Artista multidisciplinar, Nilda Neves estudou contabilidade e foi professora de matemática, comerciante, cabeleireira, entre outras profissões, antes de se dedicar às artes visuais e à literatura. Seu trabalho está intimamente vinculado à memória e à narrativa oral: cada figura, animal ou trecho de paisagem em suas telas corresponde a um "causo" derivado das memórias das histórias de seu avô tropeiro e de sua mãe, pastora de ovelhas. Essas cenas se irrompem nas telas de Nilda, revelando-se em cenas curiosas com cangaceiros, personagens folclóricos ou do cotidiano que, juntos, engendram um universo fantástico.

A multidisciplinary artist, Nilda Neves studied accountancy and was a Math teacher, merchant and hairdresser, among other professions, before dedicating herself to the Visual Arts and Literature. Her work is closely linked to memory and oral narratives: each figure, animal or piece of landscape on her canvases corresponds to a "story" derived from the memories of the stories of her grandfather, a muleteer, and her mother, a sheep herder. These scenes erupt on Nilda's canvases, revealing themselves in curious scenes with folkloric or everyday characters who, together, create a fantastic universe.
