For Frieze Masters 2023, Gomide&Co is pleased to present a solo show by Brazilian artist Amadeo Luciano Lorenzato (1900-1995) with a wide selection of paintings. Of singular importance to the panorama of 20th century Brazilian painting, Lorenzato's poetics combine autobiographical aspects with Brazilian aesthetic and cultural expressions, while paying close attention to the international modern painting scene. His pictorial sensibility revisits a variety of imaginary but no less authentic landscapes. Figurative or abstract, his works emerge from a vivid reality, as well as awakening an affective and sometimes nostalgic memory.
