Porém, o resultado da interação é ambíguo. Ao elevar o espectador à condição de participador, a artista o coloca numa posição de cúmplice, encarregado de liberar a energia que cumpriria o gesto que a máquina promete concretizar – embora, em vez de realmente fazer amor, a caixa apenas dispare o som de sua engrenagem, remetendo sugestivamente a um gemido. Trazido para uma dimensão mecânica e maquínica, o sexo se torna algo quase impossível, ou só pode acontecer como paródia.

The graphic quality of the colors and figures, the ingenious articulation of each of its elements and symbols make the Caixa de Fazer Amor an attractive and thought-provoking work. However, the result of the interaction is ambiguous. By elevating the viewer to the status of participant, the artist places them in a position of accomplice, in charge of releasing the energy that would fulfill the gesture that the machine promises to accomplish - although, instead of actually making love, the box only triggers the sound of its gears, suggestively referring to a moan. Brought into a mechanical and machinic dimension, sex becomes something almost impossible, or can only happen as a parody.
