mira

mira is a limited-edition booklet of 300 numbered and signed copies, published by Gomide&Co in the summer of 2025 in collaboration with the Estate Mira Schendel. The book features the repertoire Mira Schendel developed in her notebooks in the early 1970s, when she was deepening her investigations into the transparency of paper. The overlapping of pages transformed her graphic signs into progressive serial compositions of geometric forms such as numbers, letters, and symbols. With her established geometric sign — here, the circle — Schendel’s compositions display a visual malleability, where this concentric form disappears and reemerges with the rhythm of the turning pages, like a flip book.
