Chico da Silva's particular universe reveals an intense relationship between fauna and flora, the fruit of the deep ecology of his thinking. His bestiary comes both from references from his childhood in the North and Northeast and from the inventiveness of his restless and creative mind. The work Untitled (1965) depicts a Ganga [Chestnut-bellied sandgrouse] bird, in a spectrum of pastel colors among the artist's characteristic dots. It was made in the run-up to the 1966 Venice Biennale, at a time when Pirambu's studio was beginning to diversify the animals and biodiversity in its productions, creating a visuality based on the figuration of fabulous and fantastic compositions.
