Thomaz Rosa Brazil, b. 1989

Thomaz Rosa (1989). Lives and works in São Paulo.

 

 

In 2009, he started his education in Visual Arts at the Instituto de Artes da Universidade Estadual de São Paulo - UNESP. Between 2012 and 2013, he took part in an artistic residency at the Faculdade de Belas Artes da Universidade do Porto – FBAUP, in Portugal. He was assistant of various artists, such as Lucas Arruda, Claudio Cretti, Caetano de Almeida, Marina Rheingantz, Paulo Monteiro and Sergio Sister. In 2016, he participated in the group exhibitions “Oito Artistas” at Galeria Mendes Wood DM, organized by artists Bruno Dunley and Lucas Arruda; “Circumscriptio, Compositio, Receptio Luminum” at BFA Boatos Fine Arts; “An unrest” at Galeria Estação; and “On the threshold of the night” at Galeria Sancovski. In 2017, he held his first solo show “Unwelt” at BFA Boatos. In 2018, he took part in an artistic residency at PIVÔ. In 2019, he participated in “February” exhibition at Mendes Wood DM; and held his second solo exhibition and first in Europe “Intorno alla mia cattiva educazione” at Castiglioni Gallery, in Milan. Also in 2019, he organized the project “Featuring” in partnership with artists Leandro Muniz and Marcelo Pacheco exhibited at Ateliê Massapê. In 2020, he participated in the group show “Entre Bordas” at SESC Santo André, curated by Paula Braga.
